| Living in a suburban town, things can get a little boring... which leads to people looking for a way out of here. So, as a result of that, I have had 6 of my closest friends join active duty branches of the military. Most friends loose contact or relationships fade away when the soldiers leave, but it is so important to keep a close relationship with them. Who else is going to visit their family? Who else are they going to call to chat with during deployment? I know that family will always be there (hopefully) but having friends is so necessary. It can be hard getting middle of the night phone calls from a soldier not knowing how to deal with all the killing, or being bored outta their mind while at their home base between trainings. But remember, friends, what if there was no one to call? Families, make sure your soldier's friends don't loose contact with them. It can make a world of difference! |
