According to The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, citrulline could “be useful to increase athletic performance in high-intensity anaerobic exercises with short rest times and to relieve postexercise muscle soreness.”

That’s great news. They go on to conclude that “athletes undergoing intensive preparation involving a high level of training or in competitive events might profit” from taking citrulline. If that sounds like you, then you’re in luck!

Rhodiola Rosea (100MG) — Next up, we have rhodiola rosea, which is actually a long-living, green and yellow plant. More good news awaits here…

The NIH reports that rhodiola rosea ingestion has the ability to enhance an athlete’s capacity for endurance exercise. They do note that the trial subjects were both young and healthy to begin with, although it’s unclear if this is critical to the substance’s efficacy.

Further, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center writes that rhodiola helped to improve human test subjects with both “exercise capacity” and “mental performance”.

In other words, the research for rhodiola rosea is quite solid.

Red Beet (300mg) — If the research could somehow get even more clear on a supplement, it’s red beet. Numerous trials and scientific studies report the incredible benefits of red beet on the human body.

In fact, it is even used in the management of cancer and cardiovascular disease, according to the National Institutes of Health.

As for exercise, the results are also in, and they are just as phenomenal. In at least two separate studies cited by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, red beet helped cyclists with their performance.

Another study in the scientific journal Nutrition and Dietary Supplements reports that red beet consumption increases “number of repetitions, power, and time to fatigue”.

The conclusion is pretty clear: red beet is a great addition to any workout supplement regimen.

Other ingredients in 4 Gauge are listed as creatine monohydrate (improves performance), acetyl-L-carnitine (research indicates no support), and coconut water (promotes rehydration).
