When we initially researched and wrote this article, Sears offered a military discount via Veterans Advantage.
However, it seems that Sears is no longer partnered with the Veterans Advantage program to provide online shopping discounts.
According to the Veterans Advantage blog, however, Sears does offer an in-store discount of 20% when you show a military ID card.
You’ll get 20% off full-priced items and an additional 5% off sales prices throughout the tools/hardware and lawn and garden departments.
Military.com posts the same information on its site.
That blog entry from Veterans Advantage is about five years old, however, so it may no longer be valid.
So, Does Sears Have a Military Discount or Not?
OMK dug a little deeper, and it appears that Sears does, in fact, have a military discount for 2023.
As per their website:
Sears is proud to offer an extra 10% off discount to the military, first responders, healthcare workers and teachers using ID.me for validation. How to Get Your Discount:
1. Add items to your cart as you shop. When finished, proceed to checkout.
2. Look for the bright green Verify with ID.me button under GROUP DISCOUNT.
3. This will take you to the ID.me verification portal to answer a few questions.
4. Once verified, you will be taken back to Sears checkout.
5. The 10% discount will automatically be applied to qualifying items in your cart.
So as you can see, Sears does offer an online military discount for those registered with ID.me.
