What Is SR9011?

Let’s start at the beginning. What is SR9011? It’s often combined with SARMS – selective androgen receptor modulators.
And there’s good reason for that. This drug works in a similar way to those pharmaceuticals.
However, SR9011 is technically not a SARM. Instead, it’s an REV-ERB agonist.1
It’s not the only drug misclassified as a SARM, but it is one that offers the least chance of side effects and real potential to help you burn fat and improve endurance.
SR9011 is not a natural supplement. It is a synthetic chemical compound created in a laboratory (Scripps Research, like its sister drug SR9009, which is also known as Stenabolic).

SR9011 and SR9009 don’t bind with muscle or bone tissue, but with the liver itself.
In the liver, this drug begins to create change on a cellular level and rewrite your DNA in unique ways.
By changing which genes are turned on and off, it affects glucose production, fat cell growth, and even affects your natural circadian rhythms (your sleep cycle), which is actually what this drug and SR9009 were originally developed to do.
Is SR9011 Legal?
There is no simple answer to the question of legality when it comes to SR9011 or other research chemicals.
Technically, it is legal to buy and sell in the United States, as well as some other countries (but not all in others, particularly Australia).
However, there are strict regulations on how it can be sold and how it can be marketed.
There are several reasons for these restrictions. One of those is that this is an experimental, untested, unregulated pharmaceutical.
It is not a natural supplement, which means that it falls under the purview of the FDA, which has not approved it.

This drug has shown the ability to reduce the production of bile acids and cholesterol within the liver.
Fatty Liver

There have been hundreds of athletes around the world who have been suspended or banned from their sports in the last few years.
Doping is a huge issue today, and entire nations have been censured for their athletes failing drug tests during events like the Olympics.
SR9011 is also banned by other organizations, including the USADA and the ASADA.
What about recreational users?
While you don’t have to worry about drug tests, there is the fact that this drug is not approved for human use and, without the required testing, there is no way to determine what the long-term effects might be on your body and mind.
How Does SR9011 Work?
How does SR9011 work? To really understand that we need to discuss the REV-ERB protein.
This protein is responsible for a wide range of functions in the body, including the following:
- Monitoring blood glucose levels
- Monitoring body fat
- Digesting sugars
- Breaking down cartilage
In the body, SR9011 enters the liver and begins to alter genes, particularly those that control glucose production/metabolism, fat production/metabolism, and oxygen usage.
It does this by binding to the REV-ERB protein (whereas SARMs bind to androgen receptors).
SR9011 Ingredients
SR9011 does not include any ingredients. It is a synthetic pharmaceutical designed and manufactured in a laboratory.
It’s chemical name is 3-[[(4-chlorophenyl)methyl-[(5-nitrothiophen-2-yl)methyl]amino]methyl]-N-pentylpyrrolidine-1-carboxamide.
Note that it’s illegal to market SR9011 as a dietary, fitness, or health supplement. It is also illegal to include it in the formulation of natural supplements.
This is because it is not a natural substance. Instead, it is a pharmaceutical, which must be thoroughly tested for safety before being released to the public.
