Thankfully most domestic airlines do support U.S. active duty personnel and their dependents to some extent.

The most common military discount is on baggage yet through the Veterans Advantage program many support at least a 5 percent discount on airfare too!

Delta Airlines is one of the major American carriers.

The airline operates over 5,400 flights daily and serves an international network that includes over 300 worldwide destinations in 52 different countries.

It represents the sixth oldest airline still in operation, and oldest airline still operating that was established in the United States.

It has a high quality reputation and track record.

What discount do they offer?

Delta is proud to support active members of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard. Special flight price discounts are reserved exclusively for active duty members.

The airline represents the largest low-cost carrier in the world.

It was established in 1967. Southwest operates approximately 4,000 departures per day.

Also as of this year it has carried the most domestic passengers of any U.S. airline.

Allegiant Air is a budget friendly airline that scheduled select charter flights.

It’s actually the ninth largest commercial airline in the United States with a lot of direct flights to Las Vegas where they’re headquartered.

What discount do they offer?

Allegiant Air does not support a discount on airfare.

However there are other savings including free seat assignment.

Also, passengers may check in the first three bags (under 100 lbs. each) for free. There is also no charge for oversized checked bags.

Military personnel may also carry-on one bag free of cost.

Traveling with a pet? Allegiant Air also waives the fee for one pet in the cabin which is normally an extra $100.

Some of the top international airlines in the world also feature benefits for U.S. Military personnel.

The list is not quite as extensive as we would like to see, but it does make sense considering international airlines are based out of other countries.

Therefore, their allegiance isn’t nearly as attached to the United States as domestic carriers.
