Education

The United States Army has some general requirements for enlistment.

The biggest thing you need to do from an educational standpoint is finish high school with a diploma or receive a GED equivalent.

Once you speak to an Army recruiter, they will tell you more about the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

The series of tests are used to determine which Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) is best suited for your strengths.

If you wish to become an Army M1 Armor Crewman (MOS 19K), you will need to complete a score of Combat (CO): 87 on the ASVAB.

Qualifications

Training

All Army recruits begin boot camp, or Basic Combat Training (BCT), for at least 10 weeks.

MOS Army M1 Armor Crewman training combines Basic Combat Training with One Station Unit Training (OSUT).

The two types of training are combined and require 22 weeks of your time.

Training is a combination of field-simulated combat as well as classroom learning.
