There are a variety of ways to book your cruise. You can book your trip through the Tickets and Travel Office on your local base, through a civilian travel agent, by calling Carnival Cruise, or through the Carnival Cruise Website.
Buying Tickets Through Your Ticket and Travel Office
Many Ticket and Travel offices provide tickets for Carnival Cruise trips.
To buy tickets this way and receive your discount, call your local office in advance to ensure they can help you through the process.
Then, go to the office to make your purchase. They will be able to help you find your trip, as well as utilize your military discount.
Buying Tickets Through A Civilian Travel Agency
Buying tickets through a civilian travel agency is similar to making your purchase through a military base Ticket and Travel office.
However, you’ll want to voice your status as a military member to ensure they help you take advantage of this deal.

To purchase tickets over the phone, you can call 1-800-CARNIVAL.
Let the customer service member know which trip you’d like to reserve a room for, and how many guests you will be bringing.
Also be sure to tell them that you are a military member or that you served in the past, and that you would like to use the military discount.

Purchasing Tickets Through The Carnival Cruise Website
Step 1: Go to carnival.com and choose your cruise
Step 2: Choose the number of guests you will be bringing
Step 3: On the next page, labeled “Tell Us About Yourself,” check the “Promotional Programs” box that says “Military”
Step 4: Follow the prompts to finish booking your trip
Proof Of Military Status
No matter which way you book your trip, you will need to confirm your military status in order to be eligible for the discount.
If you book your trip within one week of its sailing, you will need to provide your proof of service within 24 hours of booking.
If you book your trip with more than a week’s time to spare, you will have 72 hours to submit your proof of service.
Acceptable documents include a copy of your Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), a copy of your military retirement papers (DD214 or DD256), or a copy of your honorable discharge form (DD214).
For cadets, proof of service documents can include a letter from your Commander or a copy of your military pay stub.
For documents including your social security number, be sure to black this out.
Carnival Cruise states that Veteran’s Administration cards are not acceptable forms of documentation.

Who Can Claim This Deal?
Carnival Cruise offers a military discount to all active duty and retired service members.
The deal is available for those serving in all five military branches, as well as in the Reserves and National Guard roles.
It is also available to ROTC or military academy cadets.
It is not currently available to non-retired veterans or military family members, spouses, or dependents.
