About GNC

GNC was founded in 1935 by a man named David Shakarian.

His first store was called Lackzoom, but it was wrecked by a flood not too long after it opened.

After the flood, Shakarian opened a new store along with a mail-order service, which grew over the years and turned into the GNC we all know today.

Now, GNC has over 6500 locations across the country.

They sell vitamins, minerals, dietary aids, and other supplements to help people live their healthiest lives.

What is the Official GNC Military Discount?

Before jumping into the exact GNC military discount deals, it’s important to know that there are many different types of GNC stores.

There are locations that are individually owned and locations that are owned by corporate.

There are also GNC stores located within Rite Aid stores and on military bases.

Each type of store has a different policy when it comes to military discounts.

We will outline each deal (and lack there of) below. We’ll also cover how military members can save on GNC products online.

GNC Stores on Military Bases

Many military bases across the country have GNC stores.

These stores all have military discounts, but the exact percentage varies by location.

The deals usually give military members 5%-10% off their total purchase.

These stores simply have lower prices, so you don’t have to do anything to claim the deal.

Corporate-Owned GNC Locations

Unfortunately, there is no corporate-wide GNC military discount.

Because of this, stores that are owned and operated by the GNC corporation do not offer military discounts.

Individually-Owned GNC Locations

These GNC stores have the option to provide a military discount.

It’s still not mandatory, however, so some locations offer a military deal and others do not.

You’ll want to contact your local individually-owned GNC to ask them if they have a military discount, who can claim it, and if you need to bring in proof of service in order to use it.

GNC Inside Rite Aid Stores

GNC stores inside of Rite Aid locations also do not offer military discounts.

GNC Online Military Discount

Since the GNC corporation does not offer a military discount, the GNC website does not have a military deal.

However, there is still a great option available to purchase GNC products online at a discounted price.

Veteran’s Advantage has a GNC deal that gives 15% off your total qualifying purchase, making it the best GNC deal offered to military members.

Who Can Claim this Deal?

Each of the GNC military discounts have different eligible parties. Each deal’s eligibility is shown below:

Privately-Owned GNC Stores:

These stores make their own deal, so they are able to choose who can claim the savings as well.

You will need to contact your local store and ask who is able to use their military discount (if they have one).

GNC Stores on Military Bases

The GNC stores on base can be shopped by anyone eligible to shop at military exchanges.

This typically includes current military members, retired service members, and disabled veterans.

Veteran’s Advantage GNC Military Discount

This deal can be used by anyone who is eligible to create a Veteran’s Advantage account.

This include current military members serving in Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard roles in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.

Past service members, including veterans and retired military members, are eligible to create accounts.

What are the Restrictions?

Each GNC military discount comes with its own set of restrictions.

The individually-owned GNC stores set their own restrictions, so it’s best to ask them directly if you have any questions regarding how their deal can be used.

The biggest restriction with the military base GNC’s is their shopper limitations, which are explained above.

The Veteran’s Advantage deal states “exclusions apply,” but these are not shared publicly.

You may find that the deal isn’t able to be combined with other deals, since that’s common for military discounts.
