Nightforce Optics was started in 1992 by Ray Dennis, as a subsidiary of his already running, successful Australian business, Lightforce Performance Lighting.
The American side of the company began selling optics in Orofino, Idaho.
Today, Nightforce is based in Lavonia, Georgia.

What Is The Official Nightforce Military Discount?
Nightforce has two deals that are made to give back to those who serve.
The first is a direct sales program, and the second is an individual discount program.
We will look into the details of each program below.
Direct Sales Program
The Nightforce Direct Sales program provides discounts for government and law enforcement agencies, on equipment they will use in their service.
The exact details of the deal, such as how much of a discount is provided, are kept secret until after you are approved.
Nightforce does share that the deal provides discounted rates for qualifying agencies, test and evaluation samples, and their best effort at meeting your budget and delivery-related needs.
To apply and use this deal, you will need to send an email to [email protected] with the following characteristics:
- A subject line with the phrase “Agency Purchase”
- Your current mailing address (for official quotes only)
- A short message explaining your current rifle system(s) and the item(s) you are interested in purchasing

Individual Discount Program
If you are an individual wanting to purchase Nightforce products for personal use, the Individual Discount is the program you will want to use.
The exact discount is once again not advertised, and it is kept a secret until after you are approved to use it.
It is made clear that the deal will save you money on high quality products, regardless of the exact percentage or dollar-off amount you may receive.
To use this deal, you will need to send an email (from your military email address if you are currently serving) to [email protected].
The email should include the following:
- A subject line containing the phrase “Individual Purchase Request”
- A valid ID (only for retired military members or veterans)
- A short message sharing about your rifle system(s), and the product(s) you are wanting to purchase
After sending this information, you will receive a response back explaining the confidential details of the military discount, as well as support helping you make your purchase.

Who Can Claim This Deal?
The Direct Sales Program is available to government agencies and law enforcement teams.
The Individual Purchasing Program is available to all military members, both past and present.
For those currently serving, this includes members of the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.
Those who serve in Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard roles are all eligible to claim the deal.
For those who have served in the past, retired military members and veterans are able to use the discount.
Nightforce Optics does not currently offer a discount to military family members, such as dependents or spouses.
The deals can be used, however, by Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and EMS.
What Are The Restrictions?
The two programs that are offered by Nightforce do have many restrictions that you will need to keep in mind when using the deals.
The biggest restriction (for both deals) is that you must apply and be approved before you can receive a discount.
This gives Nightforce a bit of leeway regarding restrictions.
Their approval process is not advertised, so you may be turned away even if you meet all of the eligibility that we share (and that is shared on the Nightforce website).
As for the Individual Purchase Program specifically, it can only be used within the United States.
If you are a current military member, your application email must be sent from your military email address if you want to be approved.
If you would like to communicate via a personal email address after the initial message, you can “CC” your desired email address with your application message.
Government ID’s should not be sent in the application email, as they won’t help you get approved.
DD-214’s should also never be sent, since they are not accepted and they are a liability issue when sent.
If you’re a retired military member or a veteran and you need to send identification, only the following forms are accepted:
- VA Health ID card
- VFW card
- American Legion card
- State or County Veteran ID card
- State Driver’s License with Veteran Status
As we mentioned earlier, other restrictions may apply.
It is common for military discounts to not extend to specific products or lines, and for the discount to not be able to be combined with other deals.
