For most of my time in college, I worked at Red Lobster as a server. I had some of the best (and worst) times of my life while working there, and wouldn’t trade the memories for the world.
With that said, I would never do it again 🙂
While I worked at Red Lobster, they offered a wide variety of discounts, specials, coupon codes, etc.
One of those was a military discount, which when working near an Air Force base, happened to be exercised routinely.

The purpose of this article is to give you the full details of what you can expect from the Red Lobster military discount program, as well as their Veterans Day special offers.
Red Lobster Military Discount Snapshot
Red Lobster offers all active duty service members a 10% discount off their total bill every day of the week.
The discount program used to be called Military Monday, but a representative from Red lobster confirmed with me that the 10% discount works any day of the week.
Originally, I was unsure if they still offered the discount.
For example, if you look at the bottom of the official Military Monday page, you’ll see that the dates listed are 8/8/2016 through 11/15/2016.
With that said, a representative confirmed with me that the discount is active at nearly all of their locations.
How do I claim my military discount?
Your best bet would be to inform your server, bartender, or take out cashier before they present the bill to you that you are active duty military.
Since the discount is only available to Active Duty military members, you’ll have to show a valid active duty military ID that looks like this:
Alternatively, you can provide a Veterans ID card, a DD214, or even wear your uniform.
Keep in mind that not all Red Lobster locations will simply accept the fact that you’re wearing a uniform as conclusive proof that you’re indeed serving in the active military.

Are there any restrictions / terms and conditions?
According to the official site, the Military discount excludes things like:
- Gift Card purchases
It’s also only available at participating Red Lobster stores, but it is unclear as to which stores are considered ‘participating’. (more on this below)
Lastly, the military discount cannot be applied in conjunction with any other coupons, discounts, or special offers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Am I entitled to a military discount at ALL of their stores, or specific ones?
According to the official policy, the military discount is only available at participating Red Lobster stores.
So how do I know if the store I’m going to is “participating?”
Unfortunately, there’s no way to know for sure unless you call the restaurant ahead of time and ask them.
However, I can tell you from experience that virtually every Red Lobster in the continental US will likely honor the military discount.
Outside the continental US (IE Hawaii and Canada, there aren’t any locations in Alaska), they likely will NOT honor the discount.
To be absolutely sure, give them a call! Here’s a link to all of the Red Lobster locations in the US.
Does Red Lobster offer any other military discounts or similar offers?
Like many other restaurants, Red Lobster does indeed offer free food on Veterans day (Monday, November 11, 2019).
Unlike the military discount program (which is only available to active duty soldiers, sailors, and airmen), this program is accessible to ALL military members, including veterans, as well as active duty and reserve members of the US Armed Forces.

One thing that everyone can enjoy (not just military veterans), is the award winning biscuits.
Everyone loves them for a reason….they’re pretty darn good!
The nice thing about Red Lobsters’ Veterans Day program is that, unlike other restaurants like Applebees or Chic-fil-A, you actually don’t have to buy anything.
You can just waltz right in, take a seat at the bar or a table, order a water, and simply claim your free appetizer or dessert.
You’re total check: $0.00
Keep in mind that menu selections can vary between locations, and they may also be out of certain items at the time of your arrival.
