Thousands of companies across the United States offer a military discount on their products. These discounts allow the companies to give back to those who serve.
The deals are often available for active military members, veterans, and even their families.
Unfortunately, Spotify is not one of these companies.
They do not offer any type of Spotify military discount at this time.
Spotify’s users have been vocal about their desire for the company to offer a military discount, so there may be hope that a deal is coming in the near future.
The wish for a military discount has been brought up multiple times on Spotify’s forum.
Users have suggested that a deal be created.
Some forum users have even offered action plans of how the company could offer a deal to service members.

They have asked for a discount, provided reasoning behind their request, and even offered specific percentages that Spotify could give off to military members.
These forums are located on Spotify’s site, so the company sees every post.
Spotify has responded to this feedback stating that they like the idea.
This response makes the possibility of a future discount even more promising.
Even though Spotify does not currently have a military discount, there are a few other ways you can save money on their monthly Premium subscription.

#1 – Spotify Student Discount
Spotify’s usual price is $9.99 per month, but the student rate brings it down to $4.99 per month.
This discount is available to anyone who attends a US Tile IV accredited secondary education program.
This includes most colleges and universities.
Currently, the Spotify Premium student plan gives access to Hulu and ShowTime as well.
This makes the savings even higher.
To use the discount, you’ll need to prove that you truly are a student. Spotify partners with Sheer ID for this part of the process.
You’ll need to enter your name, date of birth, school email address, a photo of your student ID, and any other forms of identification that Sheer ID deems necessary.
Once Sheer ID verifies your student status, you’ll be able to continue the sign up process for Spotify Premium.
Step 1: Click Here to visit Spotify’s students web page, and click on the button that says “Get Started”.
Step 2: Verify your information with Sheer ID.
Step 3: Go back to Spotify’s web page and finish filling out your registration information.
Step 4: Enjoy your discounted access to ad-free music, movies, and television shows.

#2 – Spotify Premium for Family
If you’re not a student but you still want a deal on Spotify Premium, you may want to look into the family plan.
Spotify’s family plan rewards households with multiple Spotify users by giving them a discounted group rate.
The cost is $14.99 per month and the plan can be used for up to five family members.
At this price, the plan saves money for families with between two and five music lovers.
This discount is specifically made for family and cannot be used by a random group of 2-5 people.
The family members actually need to live within the same address to be eligible for this plan, so it can’t be used by just anyone.
To sign up for Spotify’s Premium Family Plan, simply go to the website, choose “Family Plan” and click “Get Started.”
You’ll make an account and then be able to use the services right away.
You do not need to verify anything like you need to for the student discount.
Spotify takes care of this step in the process by ensuring that every user on the plan lives at the same address.
Step 1: Click Here to visit Spotify’s family plan web page.
Step 2: Click “Get Started” and follow the prompts to create an account.
Step 3: Enjoy your discounted music!

#3 – Coupon Sites
If you’re not a student and do not want a family plan, you still may be able to get a deal on your Spotify subscription.
Your next step would be to check coupon sites.
Coupon sites are a growing trend when it comes to saving money online or in person.
Some top coupon sites are Retail Me Not, Groupon, and Slick Deals.
The sites offer discounts and deals on wide varieties of items.
Each of these sites specifically have deals regarding Spotify Premium subscriptions.
Retail Me Not
Retail Me Not is a top provider of coupon codes across the internet. Users upload codes when they find them, and others vote as to whether or not they actually work.
Currently, the site has a coupon for one free month of Spotify Premium. However, these deals could change any moment.
Groupon is also a great place to find Spotify discounts. Groupon is a site that allows people to shop for products, experiences, tickets, and more at discounted rates.
On Groupon, customers buy directly through the site or app and then use a code or their account to redeem their savings.
Currently, Groupon shows a free month’s trial for Spotify Premium and free Premium for six months for new Sprint customers.
Again, these deals often change so don’t expect to find these exact prices. Simply use the site to search for new discounts.
Slick Deals also shows discounts for Spotify including the free month trial at this time.
Slick Deals is an online provider of coupons and links to low-priced objects.
Slick Deals offers something called “Deal Alerts,” so you can be alerted whenever something you’re looking for goes on clearance or has a valid coupon on the site.

All in all, there are plenty of ways to save money on the cost of a monthly Spotify Premium subscription.
You can use the student or family discounts, or you can find a deal through a coupon site.
Even though there are many ways to save on Spotify’s Premium plan, it is still a disappointment that they do not currently offer a Spotify military discount.
We hope that in the future, Spotify decides to listen to their supporters by giving back to those who serve our country.
For now, make sure you take advantage of these other deals if you are wanting to sign up for Spotify’s ad-free music plan.
