Columbia Sportswear was started in 1938 by a family called the Boyle’s in Portland, Oregon.

The Boyle’s were immigrants who came to the United States from Nazi Germany.

They started at hat company, called Columbia Hat Company, as a way to make a living when they got to America.

The Columbia Hat Company took off, and over time grew into the Columbia Sportswear that we all know today.

Now, the company is headed by Tim Boyle, grandson of the couple who immigrated here and started Columbia in 1938.

Columbia sells sportswear for all types of active lifestyles and for all weather conditions.

They are well-known for their winter gear, and even continue to make hats, the product that gave the company it’s humble beginning.

Columbia offers 10% off to military members as a way of saying “Thank you” for your service.

This deal is currently only available through a site called is an online verification tool that websites can use to verify the military status of their customers, in order to provide discounts and deals.

While creating your account, you will need to provide proof of your military status.

Who Can Claim This Deal?

Since the Columbia military discount is only available through, it’s eligibility requirement is to fit into’s “Military Community.”

The Military Community on includes active duty military members, reservists, members of the National Guard, retired military members, veterans, and military family members.

Current and former military members include those who currently serve or have served in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and National Guard.

Military family members include military spouses and dependents.

To claim this deal, the Military Community members need to have an acceptable form of identification available as well, as we mentioned earlier when we looked into how to use this deal.

What Are The Restrictions?

The biggest restriction on this deal is that it can only be used through the link.

If you order directly from Columbia’s website, over the phone, or purchase Columbia merchandise from a third-party retailer, you will have to pay full price for your items.

The deal also cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts, including Columbia’s Reward Points program. states that other restrictions may apply to this deal as well.
