About Ring

The Ring company was started in California in 2012 by a man named Jamie Siminoff.

Siminoff identifies as an inventor, and he says that he owes the success of the Ring system to his wife.

He states that his wife is the first to hear all of the “bad” ideas that he comes up with while trying to think of great new inventions.

When he told her about his idea for the Ring doorbell system, she loved it.

This made Siminoff go with the idea, and started the path to success that the idea and company have found today.

In 2018, Ring was purchased by Amazon.

Ring’s first product was the video doorbell, which allows you to answer your home’s door from anywhere via your smartphone or other wifi device.

They do offer a variety of other products now as well, including indoor and outdoor security cameras and alarm systems.

Ring’s mission is to make a positive impact by reducing crimes in neighborhoods around the world.

What Is The Official Ring Military Discount?

Ring expresses on their website that they are thankful for those who serve, and they want to give back by protecting service members while they are at home.

Ring offers a 20% military discount on a wide variety of Ring.com purchases.

This discount is only valid on the Ring website.

If you purchase a Ring product through Amazon or another third-party retailer, you will not get the military deal and your purchase will ring up at full price.

You can see a full list of items that are eligible for the Ring military discount here.

Some of the most popular products that will qualify your purchase for this deal include Ring doorbells, path lights, floodlights, spotlights, motion sensors, transformers, alarm accessories, smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms, and spare parts for installation.

To take advantage of this deal, you will need to either have or create an account with a third-party website called VerifyPass.

VerifyPass verifies your military status for ID.me so that you can use the military discount online.

You can learn more about VerifyPass here.

If you do not have a VerifyPass account yet, you can create one during your military discount purchase.

Who Can Claim This Deal?

The Ring military discount is slightly more restricted than the average military deal.

As for active military members, only those who serve in Active Duty roles can take advantage of the deal.

Active Duty members of the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard can use the deal.

It is not available for those who serve in National Guard or Reserve roles.

It is, however, also available to veterans and military dependents.

What Are The Restrictions?

The Ring military discount does have quite a few restrictions that you will want to keep in mind when you go to use the deal.

First, as we mentioned earlier, the deal is only available for Ring purchases made on the Ring website, and the discount codes can only be used once.

The military discount also only works on specified products, including only the items shown on the link we shared above.

The deal is only available within the United States.

The codes rely on verification of military status, and they are given out under the Ring staff’s discretion.

The codes cannot be used with any other deal or promotion. They also cannot be used on bundles.

The military discount needs to be used when you make your purchase, and you will not be able to receive money back if you make a full-priced purchase without applying a discount code.

Ring has the right to change the terms of this discount at any time. This means that even if they believe one person is abusing the discount by using too many codes, they can stop issuing the discount to that person.

The eligible products may also change at any time, and Ring does not have to give notice to their customers about this change.
