We reached out to REI to see if they offer a Military Discount.
At this time, REI does not offer a Military Discount for the individual person through online or in-store sales.
Special Note: While REI doesn’t offer a military discount, several other outdoor sporting goods stores DO!

As far as REI goes, however, if you are looking to make a bulk purchase for your unit, you can contact REI’s Corporate Sales Group here.
When purchasing for a large group of military personnel through the corporate services department, they will offer exempt sales tax as well as a discount of 10% to 20% (depending on the total purchase amount) on full-priced items.
Even though REI does not offer a Military Discount to individuals in their store, OMK was able to find other ways to save on their products.

About REI
According to their website, REI co-op was established in 1938.
REI was founded by a group of 23 climbing friends.
As a co-op, most of the profit is invested back into the company through dividends to REI members, employee profit-sharing, retirement funds, and investments in nonprofits.

The company has expanded to include 39 states and the District of Columbia.
Their product line includes high-quality outdoor products that you can buy new, buy used, or rent.
How to Save with REI
We found five great ways to save with REI.
1. REI Co-op Membership
REI is a co-op that offers many benefits and dividends to its members.
Each year, you will receive a dividend based on company profit and the total value of products you purchase.
The dividend amount is usually 10% of purchases, but not all items count toward that total amount.
As a member, you receive discounts on REI classes, events, rentals, and products in-store/online.
You can also receive special prices on items outside of REI, such as lift tickets.

2. REI Deals
REI offers a category that is dedicated to deals or sales items.
The deals include a deal of the day, deals under $20, half-off, and a just reduced section.
You can filter down to a certain product category by using the deals section at the top or filters on the left-hand side of the all deals page.

3. Coupons, Discounts, and Rebates
REI has a section dedicated to showing you coupons, deals, discounts, and rebates.
Current coupons and deals are listed at the top of the page.
Next to each coupon or deal you will find a link that takes you to a page with more information regarding that specific discount.
REI has discounts if you buy certain items in higher volumes.
You can find which items are available for the volume discount by scrolling to the “REI volume discount” section of this page.
Any current manufacturer rebates are listed at the bottom of the page as well.

4. Buy from the Outlet or Used Section
REI offers two great discounted product sections.
Outlet
REI Outlet is an online and in-store location that offers goods at a lower cost.
These items are new, and a wide selection of products are offered.

The used section includes returned items that were inspected for any issues or quality concerns.
The point of the used section is to eliminate throwing away items that are still in quality condition but cannot be resold as new because they were worn.

5. Sign up for REI Emails to Save
Signing up for REI emails allows you direct access to co-op offers, information on events, and new gear.
To sign up, all you have to do is visit the REI website here and scroll to the bottom of the page.
You enter your email into the section “Sign up for REI emails” and select, “Sign me up!”.
