*The current terms and conditions states that the $500 rebate is not available in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

How to Get the $500 Toyota Military Rebate

Who doesn’t want to pocket $500 off their next Toyota car or truck? It is not difficult to receive the Toyota military discount:

  • Step 1: Shop Toyota.com, or visit a local dealership. You can find the nearest dealer by visiting the following web page. Before you move forward with the purchase or lease make sure the local Toyota dealership honors the $500 military rebate.
  • Step 2: Provide proof of military status at the time of purchase. Toyota will accept a Leave and Earning Statement, or military ID card or DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
  • Step 3: Receive a qualifying salary.
  • Step 4: Receive credit approval from Toyota Financial Services.

Who Qualifies for the Toyota Military Discount?

The $500 military rebate from Toyota is available to active duty military personnel of every branch of the Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, and Navy).

Additionally military retirees and veterans are able to receive the Toyota military discount.

However, military veterans must be within two years of date of discharge in order to get a $500 rebate.

Finally, the military discount is applicable to household members of eligible U.S. military personnel.

Gold Star military families are also eligible.

In addition to military qualifications, you also need to prove a salary that is sufficient to cover ordinary living expenses as well as payment of a new vehicle.

The Toyota Financial Services will determine eligibility in that regard.

The $500 military rebate is good toward any Toyota full purchase or lease. However, Toyota reports that the current offer will expire September 30, 2019.

It is possible that Toyota will continue the special offer for U.S. Military after that date, but we don’t know for sure yet.

So it’s best to make a move now before time is too late!

Toyota Financial Services is responsible for determining if you are eligible for a new car loan or lease. The credit service checks eligibility in two ways:

  • Prove you have a salary that is capable of covering general living expenses while also affording the monthly car payment.
  • Prove you have a good enough credit history to receive a new car loan. 

Toyota Financial Services notes that not all applicants will qualify.

The $500 rebate on new car leases is applied toward the Amount Due at Lease Signing or Capitalized Cost Reduction. The $500 rebate is applied toward the Down Payment for car loans.

NOTE: The Toyota military discount is not applicable with the College Graduate Rebate Program or iFi Program. It is also not compatible with the Lease-End Re Program. However, it may be combined with other special offers from Toyota.

What types of Toyota makes and models can I use the $500 rebate toward?

Toyota does not specify if it has any restrictions on what types of new or slightly used models the $500 rebate is applicable toward, unlike General Motors which requires the make and model to be 2018 or newer.

Therefore, we assume the Toyota military discount is applicable to any car or truck on the lot.

However, to make sure the vehicle is eligible for the military offer we recommend confirming it with your local dealer.

How do I prove military service to Toyota?

Toyota presents active duty military, retirees, and veterans* with three options to prove military identity and status:

  • Military ID card

General Motors has its own military discount. The GM military discount will save you on the MSRP.

However, the amount of savings is variable and depends on the make and model.

Consumers are also limited to purchasing 2018 or newer GMC’s, Chevrolet’s, and Buick’s.
