Rural King is a well-known farm and home store, with locations spread across much of the central and southeastern United States.
They do not offer a year-round military discount at this time.

About Rural King
Rural King was founded in Mattoon, Illinois, in 1960.
That first store has turned into over 100 locations over the years, spread throughout Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia.
The store sells everything from animal feed and care products, to farm equipment, to household essentials.
They keep customer service at the center of what they do, and even have a fun tradition of offering free popcorn to their guests at every visit.
Ways to Save at Rural King
While Rural King doesn’t offer a military discount, the store does do fundraising for the Gary Sinise Foundation through sales of its “military bucket.”
Rural King states that it donates 50% of the proceeds from the sales of these buckets to charities for veterans and first responders.
Unfortunately, you can only purchase these in one of their stores. However, if you happen to be shopping in person, it’s worth purchasing for a worthy cause. They come in very handy for most families.
It is unfortunate that there is no year-round Rural King military discount.
Luckily, you can still save on your purchases from the retailer using the ways to save outlined below:
1. Military Discounts on Memorial Day and Veterans Day
Although Rural King doesn’t offer an everyday military discount, it has offered special federal holiday discounts for military members.
In May 2023, Rural King announced a military discount on Memorial Day. The discount of 10% applied to active duty and veteran service members for a short period.
While you wouldn’t want to schedule your shopping around a possible military discount, it’s worth checking in May and November to see it the company repeats the promotion.

2. View the Weekly Ad
Every week, Rural King releases a new advertisement with special prices on a wide variety of products.
The advertisement has deals that can be used online, as well as deals that can be used in person at Rural King locations.

Another great place to look for savings is the Rural King Price Busters page.
These are deeply discounted items you can purchase online for delivery or at the brick-and-mortar locations.

4. Use Rebates
Rural King also often offers rebates on their products.
You can get rebates for online or in-person products.
They are advertised in-store with a sign near their price tag on the shelf, and online on their product page.
To use the rebates, you’ll purchase the item at full price.
You’ll then send your receipt and a rebate slip to the rebate company, who will send you a check in the mail for the advertised amount.
The rebates may be on a single product, or they may offer a percentage off your entire purchase.
The larger rebate deals that give you money off your whole purchase are often advertised in the weekly ad as well.

5. Price Match at Rural King
Like many other stores, Rural King offers price matching.
Their price matching, though, is surprisingly generous.
They match other stores’ sales and promotions, as well as everyday pricing.
They state “Their sale is our sale,” so you can always get the best deal at Rural King.
Price matching is available on in-person purchases.
Simply show the cashier the lower price and your total will be reduced to match.

The newsletter is also a great way to save on Rural King purchases.
When you sign up, you’ll receive access to exclusive deals, coupons, and sales alerts right in your inbox.

In the case of Rural King, you’ll receive 1 point for every dollar you spend and once you have accumulated 500 points, you’ll receive $5 off on in-store purchases.
Points are good for up to a year, and if you find yourself shopping there frequently, it may be worth your while to sign up here.
8. Sign Up for a Rural King Harvest Credit Card
Having a Rural King credit card is one of the easiest ways to save on every purchase you make at the store.
The card gives you 2% back on all Rural King purchases you make throughout the year.
