About Under Armour

Under Armour is a high-quality and innovative retailer. They sell activewear for just about every type of exercise in men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes.

Their gear ranges from clothing to shoes and accessories.

They are a “one-stop shop” for all things active.

The company was founded in 1994 by a University of Maryland Football Special Teams Captain.

Kevin Plank was just 24 when he started the company, and he began his efforts from inside of his grandma’s basement.

Plank’s first piece really branded the company.

It was called “The Shorty,” and it was known for its soft and stretchy material that wicked away sweat.

This innovation shaped Under Armour’s goals as they began their journey toward becoming the innovative and tech-savvy brand that they are today.

Their next big innovations were heat gear and cold gear, which were introduced in 1997.

These products made Under Armour a large enough profit margin to move out of Plank’s grandma’s basement and into their own facility in Maryland, where they still reside today.

In 1999, Under Armour clothing appeared in a big-name movie and by 2000 they were appearing in ESPN magazines.

By this time, they had become the household name that they still are today.

From 2000 until now, Under Armour has continued to introduce innovative products including “Charged Cotton” and many aspects of today’s digital fitness world.

They’ve become a favorite product line for college teams and professional leagues.

Under Armour has reached significant levels of success all while sticking to their values.

They are a company that works to inspire their consumers and “make them better.”

They’ve also carried their appreciation and gratitude toward service members every step of the way.

Under Armour offers a 10% off military discount.

They boast that this military discount may be higher during promotional time frames, so it may be a good idea to check the site for additional savings around Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day.

The Under Armour discount can be used in store or online with the use of the ID.me program.

Signing up for ID.me may be an extra step, but it is worthwhile.

It not only allows you to receive the UA discount, but it also gives you access to an online marketplace filled with discounts that are only available to service members.

Once you have an ID.me account, you can use it on other sites that require verification to receive a military discount as well.

It is important that you only use the ID.me tool for purchases that you are personally making.

The system has anti-fraud tools, and you can lose your account access if you allow anyone else to use your information to make online purchases.

Who Can Claim The Discount?

Outside of military members and their families, this promotion is available for first responders as well.

Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and EMT’s can take advantage of the discount.

It is not, however, available to the families of first responders or first responders who are no longer actively working.

The Under Armour website does not mention if the discount is available for other first responders including correctional officers and paramedics.

If you serve in one of these roles, you may want to contact customer support to see if you’re able to use the discount.

If you’re making your purchase in store, this choice may be left up to the discretion of the cashier.

The website also does not mention if the discount is available for past members of the military who were dishonorably discharged.

It is likely that the discount is not available, since the option is not listed directly on the site.

However, you could also contact support or ask your cashier to answer this question with more certainty.

What Are The Restrictions?

The UA Freedom military discount is typically available to provide 10% off of the entire order that qualified individuals place.

However, the discount does have a few restrictions. It cannot be combined with other promotional codes or offers.

The discount is also not valid on the purchase of the WWP Backpack Gift, UA Icon Customized Shoes, or purchases of gift cards.

If you’re a past or current military member or military family member, or if you are currently serving as a first responder, be sure to take advantage of Under Armour’s discount.

Remember that the savings can be used in person or online through the use of ID.me.

According to the official Military and First Responder page here, they can be used on most products, but can’t be combined with other promotional offers.
