BAH For Spokane
Spokane exists along a beautiful portion of Washington state adjacent to the Selkirk Mountains.
It’s a really gorgeous alternative to the bustling Seattle / Tacoma area.
Spokane provides quick access to the outdoors while also featuring an underrated sports and culture scene.
Gonzaga University is a power in men’s college basketball leading to the city having the nickname – “Hooptown USA”.
The U.S. Air Force active-duty stationed at Fairchild AFB can find reasonable housing costs in Spokane compared to Seattle.

BAH For Everett
Everett is a very reasonable drive north of Seattle (25 miles) while producing its own thriving community in Puget Sound.
The military-friendly city features a population of over 110,600 even if housing prices are skyrocketing.
As a result, Washington BAH rates for the region are some of the highest outside of Seattle / Tacoma.
Still, service members may find it the best solution if stationed at the following military bases:
- Naval Base Everett
- Naval Magazine Indian Island
Naval Base Everett is a relatively modern military installation that was completed in 1994.
The military base is the designated homeport for a U.S. Navy carrier strike group that houses several guided-missile Destroyers.
The U.S. Navy and Boeing are the two largest employers in Everett, WA.
For this reason, active-duty troops have the potential to make this area a permanent home with civilian employment post-service.

BAH For Naval Base Kitsap
Naval Base Kitsap is a modern U.S. military installation in Washington.
The military base was completed in 2004 for the United States Navy.
As a result, Naval Base Kitsap is the home base for the U.S. Navy fleet throughout West Puget Sound.

Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI) is part of a military base in Washington state that also includes a location in Oak Harbor.
