As the only Army base in the state, Fort Liberty is the home to upwards of 30 military organizations that specialize in a variety of tasks.

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

Overall Mission:

At Seymore Johnson, the base specializes in training those pilots who operate the famous F-15 Strike Eagle combat fighter jet platform.

The squadrons located at this AFB are specialized in training the next generation of F-15 pilots and are ready to actively deploy their planes at a moment’s notice.

A squadron of 10 KC-135R Stratotankers are also located at this base that aid in missions that require additional range and fuel capacity.

Pope Army Airfield

While only recently being demoted from a full-scale AFB down to an airfield, Pope still maintains its rightful place among the Fort Liberty community.

Cherry Point operates with the mission to help fulfill the air power needs of the Marine Corps.

The only Coast Guard base in the State, Elizabeth City is an essential platform for the Coast Guard to launch operations along the Southeastern coast.
